The March 30-31 Tornado Outbreak As it Happened in Dixie Alley | Part 3

A regional outbreak of severe weather and possible strong tornadoes looks likely today across Dixie alley and parts of the Ohio and Tennesse valleys today. The threat for 75 to 80+ mph winds (Hurricane Force Winds) is likely within a possible derecho event that starts in Arkansas and Louisiana and will spread into central Alabama and even maybe into the westernmost of Georgia. There may be also a more dangerous threat for very strong tornado potential along an area of space from southern Mississippi into the central portion where the dynamics are very favorable for a few very strong EF-3+ tornadoes this is due to extreme 0-1 SRH values of 400 to near 600 m2/s2 that will have very very large stickle hodographs supportive of very intense fast-moving supercells with any of these posing a significant threat of serious wind damage of 80+ mph and strong long tracked tornadoes. Therefore I would not be surprised if this area near Jacksonville, MS has a probability upgrade of 60 SIG for wind and 30 SIG for tornadoes.
