(KNSI) â" The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the entire middle section of Minnesota. Forecasters say accumulating snow will start Sunday night and come in two waves through Tuesday. Likely snow accumulations are anywhere from eight to 14 inches. Some locally heavier snow could fall with higher snow totals from 12 to 18 inches. A band of snow will move from west to east across central Minnesota late Sunday night into Monday. The highest snowfall amounts are in central Minnesota. Breezy winds during the storm will produce some blowing and drifting snow, impacting travel. Winds will be northeast at 20 to 25 miles an hour with gusts around 30. Snow will become more widespread on Tuesday as the system broadens out and exits the region toward evening. The highest snowfall amounts that day are across southern Minnesota into western Wisconsin. Winds will be north at 15 to 25 mph, becoming northwest in the evening. Temperatures will fall below zero Tuesday night with wind chills as low as 25 below zero. The winter storm warning is in effect from midnight to 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Here"s what the warning says: A long duration snowfall event will cause travel impacts across the region beginning late tonight and lasting through Tuesday. The heaviest snow will fall along an east, west line across central Minnesota into northern, namely along and north of a line from Madison to St Cloud to Hayward. Snowfall amounts in this region are likely to be in the 10 to 14 inch range, with locally higher amounts possible. The snow will begin late tonight [Sunday], and most of this snow will fall on Monday.\nThe heaviest band of snow will then weaken and spread late Monday and into Tuesday, eventually stopping Tuesday evening. With the Twin Cities south of the Madison-Hayward line, it won"t see as much snow on Presidents Day and is instead expected to receive most of its snowfall on Tuesday, when most locations will see 3 to 6 inches from Monday night through Tuesday evening.\n World news USA news İnternational news Business news Sky news Reality TV TLC Sister Wives Turkey news Popular news Australia news
